Installed all the proper updates on Mac OS X Yosemite before proceeding with the upgrade to Windows 10. After the upgrade, I updated my Bootcamp drivers (version 6.0) using the Apple Software Update on Windows 10. Then, I noticed something strange happening every time my external monitor times out and comes back, my external, analog speakers don't work.

The audio comes through the laptop speakers rather than the external speakers even though the headphone jack is plugged into the laptop. I need to unplug the headphone jack and plug it back in. Then, the external speakers start working again. I tried looking for an option in the advanced power options but no luck in fixing the problem. The external speakers work fine when my MacBook laptop display times out and comes back but somehow have an issue with external monitors. I'm able to replicate this problem on different MacBook Air laptops, Samsung and Viewsonic LED monitors, and Bose and Creative analog, external speakers. I contacted Bose and the support person indicated that the speakers are analog speakers and there's shouldn't be an issue with the speakers.

I also contacted Viewsonic and didn't get a positive reply. They both think it's an Apple and/or Microsoft issue.

I contacted Microsoft (via Answer Desk) and they point to Apple. I contacted Apple support desk, they say it sounds like a Windows 10 issue. I event reinstalled Bootcamp 6.0 but the problem still exists.

I'm wondering whether anyone else has run into this issue and whether there's a solution for it? Thanks in advance, Sunil.

Hi Linus, Thank you for your interest in Windows 10. I understand your concern and I am glad to assist you. I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it fixes the issue. Method 1 Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:.

Expand ‘ Sound, Video and Game Controllers’. Right-click on the Sound device listed and click on ‘ Update Driver Software’.

Select the option to automatically search for the updated driver software. Restart the computer after its updated and verify. Please re-check and install latest windows 10 audio drivers from manufacture's website.

If there are no updated drivers available on the computer manufacturer’s website, then trying installing it in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘ properties’. Click on the ‘ compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘ Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 or 8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists. Access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset and sound drivers. Hope this will fix the issue, if not let us know with the updated status and we will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks & Regards Joy. Joy - Thanks for your prompt reply.

Methods 1 and 2 didn't work. However, your answer prompted me to try something with the audio drivers which seems to have solved the problem. So, you still deserve the credit. After installing Windows 10 and getting the latest version of Boot Camp from Apple Software Update, I believe Boot Camp 6 installed the latest Cirrus Logic driver. Unfortunately, there seems to be a compatibility issue with Windows 10 and latest Cirrus Logic driver. So, needed to go back to the previous version of the driver. Product: digital doc: iris intraoral dental camera for mac. There may be quicker steps but here are the steps that I used: 1.

But of course, I simply hadn't found the Print Settings menu option, offering four different trim sizes up to 6'x9'. I thought I'd found a flaw in Vellum, at last, when it seemed that Vellum could only format print books in 5'x8' format. Behind the scenes, Vellum works to avoid weird broken-up words or paragraphs across pages, so that your books always look great. Vellum software for mac. And its style options for print are, somehow, even more impressive-looking than its ebook options.

Right clicked on Windows icon and chose Device Manager. Expanded 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' 3. Selected Cirrus Logic CS4208 (AB 114) 4. Right clicked on Cirrus Logic and chose 'Properties' 5.

Chose the 'Driver' tab and chose to 'Roll Back Driver'. Selected 'OK' for the dialog box. This seems to have solved the problem. Hopefully, this will help someone who is having a similar issue. Better yet, perhaps there will be an update to the Cirrus Logic driver which will correct the issue so no need to roll back the driver.

Types of drivers Drivers can be classified into several types depending on the configuration of their diaphragms. Drivers have progressed with the strength intrinsic to each type best suited for respective user's purposes, rather than any particular types of drivers having been made do for all purposes.

Let's spend some time going over typical types of drivers. Cone Type Drivers With conically shaped diaphragms, this is the most often used type of driver.

As diaphragms are called cone 'paper', paper pulp has been the major source of diaphragm materials. However, a variety of materials is now available.

Typically used materials, other than paper pulp, are PP (polypropylene) and carbon fiber. Application of this structure is extensive enough to cover full range drivers which can reproduce the entire audio spectrum, woofers for the purpose of bass sound reproduction, mid-range drivers intended for reproduction of medium frequency ranges, and tweeters for high pitch. Dome Type Drivers Diaphragms can also be dome shaped. Sound is radiated directly from domes.

The advantage of this type of driver is that it has very good directionality. Its application is common for mid and high frequency reproduction.

A lower-extending coverage available from many types of dome tweeters, compared to horn type tweeters, makes them reasonable and useful elements to form 2-way systems. Dome tweeters can be classified into 2 categories depending on dome materials, soft dome types where soft materials such as silk, cotton or polyester film is used, and hard dome types where hard materials such as aluminum or titanium is used. Horn Type Drivers This type of driver is characterized by a horn attached in front of the diaphragms. Lightroom v5 for mac. The typical application is reproduction of mid and high frequency ranges. Acoustically loaded horns provide this type of drivers with a high level of efficiency and good transiency.

The above 3 types of drivers represent most typically used sound radiation systems. Another key component of drivers is their magnetic circuits. Magnetic circuits can be classified into 2 categories if we leave out the special types. Open Magnetic Circuits Magnetic circuits for most drivers are built on the basis of Fleming's left hand rule. Drivers of this principle are called electrodynamic types.

Of these, open magnetic circuits, using ferrite magnets in many cases, aremost often used. This structure, as illustrated in Figure 1, inevitably permits magnetic flux leakage, causing picture distortion on video monitors when they are brought close to each other. Recent technology has made it commercially possible to produce drivers where magnetic flux leakage can be cancelled for use in audio/visual applications.

Closed Magnetic Circuits This type of magnetic circuits is constructed so a permanent magnet can be inserted in a pot shaped yoke, which is typically called a pot type yoke. Alnico magnets are the type of magnet used. Magnetic fields produced by this type of magnet are stronger than those of ferrite magnets, if their volume is equal. This structure permits no magnetic flux to leak out, making drivers acceptable for use with audio/visual systems. Despite many advantages provided by alnico magnets, the lack of economy due to the fact that alnico is an alloy containing cobalt, which is one of the rare metals, may be the only discouraging factor.
